When man becomes aware of his psychic prison and wants to escape from it, he must first break his ties with the world of appearances and illusion.
The “drift of the soul” is a necessary prelude when separating the wheat from the chaff. The outlines of objects, and the interest they aroused, gradually vanish. The human heart falls into a sort of lethargy, the impulses and sensations that ignite predatory and compensatory desires fade, favoring a renewed sense of self.
However, we should not be mistaken in interpreting this necessary passage: the drift of the personality (as an existential crisis) and the oblivion of objects (beliefs, affections, work, accessories), are not at all symptoms of weakness. The Spirit, on the contrary, is at Work “Elsewhere”.
In this new state of being, we have the perception that the world was only a changing and multicolored scenario, but never experienced in its powerful simplicity and Beauty. Little by little, a new landscape rises on the horizon, an authentic Reality that goes beyond all measure.
Now, the synchrony of events opens us to the silent rhythms of the inner Master, awakening the Soul to the Reality of Being.
