Ignorance, being characterized by the dual power of polarity, manifests itself in the form of 4 fundamental aspects: selfishness, attachment, aversion and blind obstinacy. The darkening power of ignorance generates selfishness and blind obstinacy; the power of the polarity of ignorance, in its dual active/passive state, generates attachment (attraction) and aversion (repulsion).

Selfishness derives from the inability to distinguish the physical body from the real Being; the Essence identifies itself with its own material vehicle subjecting itself to the laws of the corresponding nature. Pleasures, needs, desires… most of the time is spent gratifying the ideal image and the needs of the body that want to survive. But surviving is not living, and living does not always equate to Being.

Blind obstinacy is the result of natural and social conditioning, which makes us believe in the absolute sovereignty of Culture and its rules on which the personality of the individual is educated and structured, of Nature and its laws, rather than in the omnipotent powers of the Spirit that animates man.

Attachment is the spasmodic and repeated search for objects (situations, people and things) that bring pleasure and happiness.

Aversion is the desire and delirium of eliminating objects (situations, people and things) that bring displeasure and unhappiness.

Ignorance, therefore, by virtue of the double power of polarity determines a sense of attraction for certain objects and repulsion for others. The objects that are attracted are those that arouse pleasure, and towards them an Attachment is formed that is perceived as taste, pleasantness and happiness of living. The objects that are rejected are those that produce suffering, and every form of Aversion is generated towards them.

In order to understand why Ignorance is the source of all evil, we must remember that ignorance is not just synonymous with possessing partial knowledge, but rather it is an exponential reduction of consxiousness, whether congenital or induced. From this point of view, ignorance is a fragment of darkness, and is therefore the oblivion of consciousness in relation to true Gnosis. This darkening power generates both Egoism and attachment to the idea that material creation has an absolute authenticity and value.

The ignorant, subjected to the influence of these internal movements, Egoism, Attachment, Aversion, Obstinacy, attributes an absolute validity to his psychic and material creation. Self-knowledge is in fact the solution to ignorance that opens man to the true Reality of Being, to Gnosis.

Every possible transcendental state, if it ever comes true, is always the result of a structured Teaching and practiced with method, and is a Work of integration and not of avoidance. This bold act, that is, the action that possesses Value, is generated by a responsible awareness, understood as the ability to respond to the circumstances and challenges of Life.

The man confused in the world, split from his divine nature, is the son of Ignorance. The ignorant who has recognized himself as such no longer procrastinates but acts.

“The sleeping man does not choose, does not decree and never decides freely; everything he says he chooses is dictated by the impositions decreed by his own beliefs.
Choice is where there is confusion.
For the mind that sees clearly there is no need for choice, there is action.”
