The life of the individual who has consecrated himself to discipleship out of his own free will goes through profound crises. Crises should not frighten us, they are thresholds that we must cross; what matters is the essential quality of how we are willing to proceed to cross them. What we can stumble over, fall and be injured, or make gross errors, is in many cases inevitable, and perhaps preparatory.
He who is pursuing the Way of Being, determined to travel the Path of total transformation, must equally expect to complete the journey by crossing obstacles and difficulties, having as a companion Suffering, and also Solitude.
He has deliberately entered into a process of transition, he is on a journey in Middle Earth. He has placed himself “outside the traditional gears” in order to transform himself into a higher gear, and very rarely is this change smooth, because each position of the habitual gears resists change; moreover, there is no ‘lubricant’ that facilitates the shift because, as we learn along the way, each mechanism is surrounded by a mass of cultural beliefs and generational memories, knots coagulated energetically and vibrationally that hinder awakening.
Although in the depths of his consxiousness the individual abandons the animal and social levels, towards which his will can no longer function mechanically, he still acts as an automatic biological organism, and as much as he may deny it, he remains conditioned by the culture that has provided him with a specific language, beliefs and models of thought and perception, and also of conduct.
The result of this crossing, at a psychic level, is an often strident and potentially hallucinatory confusion, especially if there is no stable light to indicate the Way and support the journey.
Therefore, everyone can freely choose whether to passively follow the broad path of planetary evolution, dragged into the undulating and slow movement of the culturally sleeping human masses, which extends with a cyclical but eminently repetitive character, or to work motivated to awaken to the Ocean of Potential, which is dormant in each of us.
The only condition required is “remember to be”.
“When you become aware not only of what you are doing, but also of yourself doing it, you see both the ‘I’ and the ‘here’ of ‘I am here’. This is self-remembering”.
